Vicereine Barbara bore her boring tasks with aplomb. Helping her was an abundant supply of plum wine. Perhaps her husband’s posting would not last too much longer.


Sure, there must be moments of excitement, maybe the locals will decide to have a protest, or maybe a little riot, but most such high level postings for the empire cannot be as much fun as being able to shop at Harrods whenever, or occasionally to have tea with the queen herself.
